However, why do you think UPS buying Amazon is far more likely?

Granted, it's very difficult to compare the two companies as they deal with different aspects of business (for now) but according to Forbes' Global ranking as of May 2017:

Amazon market cap - $427 billion (#83 on the list)
UPS market cap - $91.3 billion (#159 on the list)

2016 revenue
Amazon - $74.87 billion
UPS - $60.5 billion
