I don't think the FDAC is a joke, at least anymore than other initiatives are a joke. It takes proper documentation and pushing. There is push back to an extent, but with such an important safety issue it is necessary to keep pushing.

Nobody wants to deal with this problem, but it's going to become more common as the NJA pilot group ages and I'm afraid will lead to an accident, not to mention ridiculously unfair and stressful to the other crew member pulling the weight of the pilot suffering from age related mental decline.
