Likely toast; the 787-8 fits into at least one more gate than the 777 due to its shorter length. The 787-900 is pretty much the same length as the 777-200 and the wingspan of both the 777 and 787 are within 3 feet. The 777-300 can only be shoehorned into gate 77.
The 777 lost the last of its international flying a couple of months ago to the 787.
