I look at any 200 growth as negative. Those planes will be parked and then 9E is left with a crap sandwich. Displacements, layoffs etc. I sure hope we get something else in the pipeline. Shutdown the regionals and bam! Instant Surplus. C series and 717 is pretty much a parallel with the regional market. In my opinion that's how they are preparing.
From my understanding I always thought building up 200s here was a way to build up pilots so we could staff 2 class flying in the years to come as planes come off other regional's contracts.
