To be more accurate.. Spirit's ALPA contract has 30 sections. 9 remain to be TA'd. Not just compensation, but sections like Duration, Definitions, and Hours of Service remain open. Economic negotiations were put on hiatus for the previous week's session, but bargaining is happening all week this week. The COMPANY requested additional sessions though August, which have been granted. This is encouraging. There are no negotiating dates on the books past August. Attrition YTD is high, including pilots going to all legacies, Southwest, and Fedex. And supposedly,, training failures. We are receiving a net 17 aircraft this year, mostly 21s. There is simply no defense on the company's part to the negotiator to not cough up industry standard, except they don't wanna... Which isn't valid... Especially when the CEO can be compensated at a higher level that the CEO of SWA who runs an operation SEVEN TIMES the size of NK. Industry standard now includes $80/ hr + to start, mid $200s for junior captains, retirement DC, profit sharing, and retro pay. Hopefully a positive update will come next week.
