You have missed the point entirely. Nobody said you are operating outside the contract. Just because something is legal in the contract does not mean it is a good thing for the pilot group at-large. They can correct me if I'm wrong, but they are suggesting we modify the contract to limit straight pay pickup in order to improve QOL/pay for the majority of DAL pilots even though a few might not see an improvement. Often the union needs to protect us from ourselves.
