Pretty much everything we have agreed on (which took 2 years) was already agreed on prior to section 6 bargaining. For the chief pilot to come out and tell potential new hires that we have "made all this great progress and just a few items remain" is technically the truth but does not paint the whole picture.
The truth is that the only items that remain are the big ones. The company has been very successful in their stall tactics thus far. They will stall as long as they can or as long as it makes sense to them. I think the company would be fools to continue down the road of stall tactics. In the end we all suffer, including the shareholders and our customers. Hopefully they wake up to that fact. That being said, our management is more of the Frank Lorenzo / used car salesmen type. And even if we do get a contract by August (I doubt it), Spirit will still be a crappy company to work for. Good people to work WITH, but a crappy company to work FOR.
