SWA would love to grow their transcon flights. They're planning to open a second California base between now and the end of 2018. In January, Gary Kelly announced GCM and reminded the employees that GCM is one of the 50 destinations he keeps mentioning. They're expecting Hawaii service to be announced first half of 2018. SWA is hiring more pilots and flight attendants for this growth. Many have suggested that SWA will acquire another carrier soon since there is only way to reach the 50 destinations. The list has included: B6, HA, and NK. It's only a matter of time before we see is really going to happen over there, but it looks to be big.

"Of course, the other new announcement is that we’ll be serving Grand Cayman. Grand Cayman and Cincinnati will both start up service on June 4. Grand Cayman is an opportunity to expand our international footprint and as you all know, we have a list of roughly 50 potential Southwest destinations where we could begin service, and this is one."
