To my understanding they can't deny it if it doesn't create a new trip drop. If it DOES create one, then.... I honestly don't know, never done it that way. I successfully slid my vacation +1 day last month to save hours on a potential drop (it would be dropped regardless due to tx2) and use my hours for float. So, in this case, it worked for me.
