If you are holding a line as a new-hire, after only three months in LAX, that means reserve is going somewhat senior. Guys would rather do reserve than hold a regular line or an open-flying line. The lines stink enough for guys to deliberately choose reserve instead, at least during off-peak months. When the lines stink, the open flying lines stink worse.
