3. Having ABX and ATI under separate management with separate unions while operating for the same parent company only makes it easier for ATSG to crack the whipsaw. ATI management was convinced that after the November ABX strike ATI would pick up all or most of the Amazon flying... didn't really happen. ABX recovers ATI freight all the time, lately ATI has run reserve lines out of ONT in case Atlas can't launch too. It's hard to understand how you don't see all of this as beneficial only to ATSG. If everyone is Teamsters, the pilots are one step closer to alleviating this.
Loss of single carrier petition was a win for ATSG, not pilots. Word got out last year that JV proposed the ATI uniform be changed to golf shirts. Seemed really weird at the time, but then the judge's decision on single carrier comes out and what is one of the main arguments? the fact that we have different colored epaulets and therefore different uniforms. Wake up guys, ATSG was trying hard to facilitate this... why? because it benefits ATSG management.
Its hard to improve on that post.
I would offer all the crooked dealing that has gone on under the nose of ALPA with Capital and ATI. The topic itself is worth its own thread. I know for a fact crew members brought this to nationals attention. Nothing happened.
Baldwin's strongest statement is pure negotiating power with full control of the ramp under one union.
