Good information! However I feel like I'm in a catch 22. My passport expires in February but want to get it done in August(due to vacation in the fall and the 6 month till expiration thing). Although some people seem to have had success by going down there cold with the airline ID, I'd like to try to make an appointment. However, in order to make the appointment you need international travel within 2weeks. I actually don't have any international trips in August. And, CP office will only write the letter if you have an appointment. So what to do? Make up a date? Do they request where you are going?
