Actually, it doesn't have to seal that well. I think most people that have used pressure - demand masks realize that you'd need a monster beard to affect the flow. My air force mask never sealed perfectly, and I was fine.

Realistically, it's probably a matter of testing....
Different folks have vastly different beards.
How would they test for a 5 o clock shadow, vs a mountain man beard?
And all this would cost money. Who would pay for that-just so some posers with man buns can run around thinking they look cool?
