"we will be looking at self help and a new contract around the end of the year" is just that. People read this and it creates "rumors" and makes the committee's job harder. Posts like that are the reason the internal site was shut down.

Call the committee members, MEC reps and learn the process, learn the NMB's role, and get an update before spewing some opinion. That's it.
