I don't really begrudge people for holding views like yours, but it is pretty disappointing when the 1224 movement seems to be working to some extent, and you guys were the first to really benefit from it only to turn your back on it (at least some of you, I'm pretty sure you are a minority- I guess we will see). The argument that 1224 had nothing to do with your contract (and in fact held you back) is horse ****, sorry.

So you pick and choose which part of my post to respond to, very nice way to make your point. I’ll try once more to see if you are paying attention.

Throughout the course of our negotiations I was a STAUNCH SUPPORTER of DW and the Teamsters. When you say there are “lots of guys like you out there and it’s a big part of why our industry is a mess”, you don’t have a clue what you are talking about. There are few people that support the union more than I do, but when that union stabs me in the back they lose my support.

I would very much like an answer to this question: Why are Atlas pilots picking up open time? The selfishness you refer to is a bit of a joke, myself as well as most of the Kalitta pilots DID NOT pick up open time. For well over two years we denied ourselves an opportunity to work OT, because our union’s positions was, do not work on days off. Can you say you have stepped up to the plate and not flown any days off? Please spare me your outrage it is a bit of a joke given the fact Atlas pilots continue to pick up open time. If you want a contract stop flying on days off, and don’t worry about what K4 pilots do or don’t do.

Your statement of “one ramp one union movement is probably idealistic, given most people’s short sighted and selfish interest”. Was I short sighted, absolutely not, was I being selfish when I did not work on days off, you are again way off base. I will reiterate for a third time for your benefit, I was a staunch supporter of the Teamsters. You do see the key word here, WAS, as in no longer, as in the honeymoon is over, as in don’t let the door hit you in the backside.

I completely understand where you are coming from, and unless I am totally off base your concern appears to be, if and when we break away from the Teamsters it weakens your position. Perhaps more thought should have gone into supporting our negotiating team as opposed to conspiring against us. Where was “your” outrage when we were being denied the opportunity to vote on our contract? Did “you” care when you found out why our contract was delayed six months? I don’t recall seeing anything on APC from “you” or other pilots being upset with the Teamsters for what they did to hinder our vote.

If the majority of the pilot group decides to stay with Teamsters so be it, they will have my support. On the other hand, if we decide to move forward to ALPA I believe it will be a move in the right direction. Let’s be honest, I am not going to convince you a move to ALPA is a step forward, and you are not going to be able to persuade me that staying with Teamsters is the right move.

So I’m either a troll or a lone wolf idiot. I guess this makes you a Teamsters representative or an individual that is not capable of holding an adult conversation. I would like to think it is the former, but based upon your rush to the gutter I suspect it could just as easily be the latter.
