I was under the impression that if you do regular TDY that you get the hotel and per diem but were required to D2 yourself to work. If you can A pass yourself that makes it a hell of a lot more appealing
15.3.B covers that, it includes both forms of TDY. The company travel at the pilot's request is included whether you were awarded TDY or involuntarily sent there.
