Does it really matter what name they decide to keep? The reputation of the (speculative) combined company is going to stink regardless. And the pilots, FAs, rampers, and agents for both companies won't lift a finger to change that reputation until they receive fair pay. Changing our service reputation takes motivated employees going above and beyond their job duties to deliver that "service with a smile"; our management groups definitely have no grasp on this concept.
Maybe you're just being facetious. Of course they grasp the concept; it's just not a high priority for this business model. They ain't exactly trying to hide this fact from the flying public either.
This isn't 2014. I think we can quit pretending we don't understand this.
