Now with that said, if you don't have a college degree, being an RJ CA is not a bad gig compared to other options, just not as good of a gig as most majors (unions generally work fairly well at majors).

Those are the biggest ALPA success stories? Why do certain people hang their perceived success of unions only on things that support their preconceived notions of unions? Can ALPA or any union do anything about corporate decisions like bankruptcies and the shutting down of companies? Of course not! Unions has been a success at places like Comair, xjt, RAH, horizon, and mesa, as well as air Wisconsin. If it wasn't for these unions that are derided by many here pilots there would be worse off than if there was no union. If you think that mesa pilots would've been better off dealing JO without a union, or RAH and Endeavor dealing with bankruptcy without a union, or xjt dealing with Skywest management without a union, then I don't know what to tell you. Pilot unions help pilots do better in good times for your company and help mitigate the bad times at your company. Those are both successes. Pilot unions work fairly well at BOTH regional and major airlines! But keep thinking that's not the case if it helps you sleep at night.

Not all regionals treat you worse. There are still a few which treat you well.
