I just got my private license in late February and I got an account on here because I often come up with questions that I have nowhere to find the answer. Now that I have my wings, I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this. On a cross country flight in a plane with a gps, how many private pilots actually fill out a nav log and keep track of headings, leg times, etc? Obviously I understand that it is a good practice to always know where you are and how much fuel you have (how long you have been flying) if the gps were to fail, I just wanted to get an idea of how many private pilots actually go through the steps of completing a nav log.
