You do realize there are alliances and codeshares all over the place, none of which preclude 2 carriers flying to the same market.
Just because your self pity tells you we'll only be flying JFK-FLL till eternity the reality is the airline is growing in new markets. Quito, Lima , Bog , Mde are the limits now simply because that's what the planes can do. With a different aircraft the business could support further destinations.
