First time I was asked to accept an extension like that 16 plus, Considering I was on reserve/ sleeping for half of it , and not actively on duty for all 18 hours etc, I felt no need to turn it down. Some guys will turn it down just for spite .

To each their own , sometimes it benefits you . Commute / what city it happens in etc
