They could make more if they had an industry standard contract, yet some bend over backwards to RSA/VDA/etc to make up the difference. They'd be the same ones to extend for pay. It's quite odd.
I was referring to the guy who implied that the UAL pilots who accept an extension for 5 extra hours pay were potentially unsafe by allowing money to motivate their fatigue level.
