Southern Air Transport was just as bad. When we operated Luanda we would get our visas in Paris. Same story with crew schedulers...but captains carried the company credit card. We deadheaded coach and arrived CDG, went to ratty hotel ....no reservations! Captain got ****ed hired a limo and found a 5 star hotel downtown. By the time schedules found us, we had run up $35,000 on rooms, room service, laundry etc.
We never had problems with travel arrangements after that episode.
