Are you kidding me? Have you paid any attention to what has been going on in the industry? I know their new deal wasn't the best thing they could have negotiated and JO is still a steaming pile, but open your eyes.
They get full pay and seniority starting in CTP for those who need it, $36/hour which is on par with Compass, then $22,100 on completion of IOE. How is Compass not paying less than that?
Just for some basic math:
Mesa guarantee is 76 hours per month paid at $36/hour. Over the course of 12 months a pilot that only gets guarantee with zero per diem would make $32,832.
Then on completion of IOE they will get $22,100.
Add that up for $54,932.
A Compass pilot getting guarantee of 75 hours at $36.71/ hour over the course of 12 months again with zero per diem would make $33,039. Even with per diem I don't think a Compass pilot can match $54k.
TSH is going to wait until we're canceling flights before they take action. I think pay at Compass will go up, but my bet is later than it needs to happen... They are already behind the curve, especially if we've only got 1 person in systems.
