Default A350 LCAs Out Of Seniority

There are going to be A350 LCAs from the 717,737, ER out of seniority.

I want to point out first, that I do not blame them for taking the opportunity.

I want DALPA to amend the PWA at the first opportunity to eliminate this practice.

1) it abrogates seniority

2) it lowers our level of safety

For those of us who have flown the Airbus, can you imagine being an instructor with no experience?

Imagine you are on your OE and you have a major problem. Who is in charge? You or the 717 pilot?

What if you know the decision he makes is wrong because you have 5000 hours of Airbus experience and he has none?

Of course we all work together. But doesn't someone have to be in charge?

Above all else DALPA and management have a written commitment to safety first.

Are they living up to that?

Or is this simply convenient?
