I don't see how anyone would even consider applying at southern, seeing as the regionals are offering $10,000+ a year more with better schedules and future options (with the same hiring requirements). Until southern gets a better contract.
I think they believe that they positioning themselves for a post contract airline ignoring the possibility of a strike or company collapse.
