Just to clarify, 175 and 145 are the DFW planes? That would be my ideal base. I'm pretty flexible. I live in a Fifthwheel RV. Southern states are usually more populated with year round campgrounds.
As an RVer, I'm familiar with your lifestyle (and perhaps a bit envious). Anyway, if I lived in something like that year round, I'd want Miami. RVs can be a pain when the weather gets to freezing and DFW does freeze in the winter. I'd be willing to bet there are affordable places to park that 5th wheel within reserve driving distance of Miami.
BUT, if you just really want DFW, I'd park it near DFW in the warm months, then take it south to a location that your equipment serves and commute for a few winter months and bid for trips that overnight there.
