Good luck with that. I go in an out of SFO jumpseating often, and find SFO can be difficult to get out of on United. Have a back up plan. For example, wife and I came back from Hawaii two weeks ago and the day before, there were over 100 seats open on the red eye out of SFO including non-revs and by two hours before the flight the flight was fully booked, and there were 57 non-revs listed with no cancellations of the route that day.

Anyway, you might get to SFO, but NRT is going to be risky. Numbers read Capacity, Booked, Non-revs listed.

185 PHL-SFO 6:54 10:01
First 08-06-03
Economy 112-100-00

837 SFO-NRT 11:28 14:10
First 14-07-05
Business 73-65-06
Economy 260-301-01

O'Hare might be a better bet.
