With the change in storm forecast and river flooding, this may likely eclipse the economic losses for Katrina.
Already there are thousands of homes in Houston and surrounding counties flooded. The storm is now forecast to reverse course, return to the gulf and land again in Galveston, passing over Houston northward. The Brazos river and Colorado river will not crest until Tuesday and may "join up".
The rain now is not forecast to end until next Friday.
In some areas the NWS is forecasting flooding above the 500 year mark.
