The lost decade has and continues to punish people based solely on timing. Yes, it does "look bad" to have quite a few flight school failures in college and then spend 6 years in the right seat. If you are a LCA and union volunteer, and a captain, majors should be knocking on the door over 24 year olds with a few years of experience and good connections. Such is the world.
True. I know lots of guys in the same situation. Also, they're seen as "career stagnant" through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN.
