The way the manual reads is you need to reside within 2 hours or 100 miles from your base. Remote basing is an option. Airlining from the west coast would probably be at your expense. I would have it cleared prior to accepting a contract or job offer. You can submit your request prior to have that cleared. Just a thought.....
