No doubt that some of those cars would cost more in towing fees that the car is worth. There are numerous charities that will tow your car and give you a tax receipt. Why wouldn't everybody do that?

In the state that I live in ...

- The State Police will come by and place a sticker with the date on it on the driver's window.

- If it's still there several days later, the state will tow it. They can find the owner from the VIN number and send them towing and storage fees (and you thought the towing would be expensive). I imagine that they auction them off at some point.
