The vast majority that I have talked to have this mentality that they spend 4 grueling years in college and have a look like "Where the hell is my job waiting for me with a starting salary in the $50K+ range???" Its amazing to see really how convinced they really are of all this. But then again these kids grew up glued to tv's showing nothing but rich movie stars, reality show folks getting everything handed to them and an overall story of just sit back and riches and all that you want will fall in your lap. Sad.
Point taken - and I'll be the first guy to go out there and pay my dues, but I don't think it unreasonable to expect a fairly well paying job shortly (perhaps not directly) after finishing college and flight training with over 100K in loans...of course - that is not reality, however ;-)
