It's certainly not just limited to the young pilots looking to get hired. I think that mentality is pervasive in most of the Generation Y folks. The vast majority that I have talked to have this mentality that they spend 4 grueling years in college and have a look like "Where the hell is my job waiting for me with a starting salary in the $50K+ range???" Its amazing to see really how convinced they really are of all this. But then again these kids grew up glued to tv's showing nothing but rich movie stars, reality show folks getting everything handed to them and an overall story of just sit back and riches and all that you want will fall in your lap. Sad.
