Point taken - and I'll be the first guy to go out there and pay my dues, but I don't think it unreasonable to expect a fairly well paying job shortly (perhaps not directly) after finishing college and flight training with over 100K in loans...of course - that is not reality, however ;-)
It would be REASONABLE to expect a fairly well paying job shortly after finishing college and/or flight training IF you brought something besides a commercial pilots license and the ability to fog a mirror to the table. The cold, hard fact is that entry level regional pilots bring NOTHING of value to the table other than their ability to occupy a legally required seat and therefore management has no requirement to give you anything more than what they are giving entry level regional pilots now.
