Seriously speaking though, I read another post that addressed this very same issue. Years ago, you not only had to have a degree, but have it in Astrophysics, 25,000TT and candidate for NASA's astronaut program

Today, the hiring minimums are totally different. There's been a tremendous swing in the "corporate culture" and philosophy of many companies. Also, there are more people that are engaging in pleasure travel than there was in the 70's & 80's.
