This is just matter of fact, I am not planning it this way nor am "jiggering" it to help myself out.

I understand this statement to mean that you allow the company to show a dummy DH on your schedule while in reality you jumpseat "home" on a Polar a/c.
I didn't see any indication you actually take Gateway "home".
The fundamental spirit behind SHOPing is that you make the company do their job; you do NOT lighten up their load even if there's a clear advantage to YOURSELF. To the contrary, sometimes sticking it to the company has a direct DETRIMENT to your quality of life.
This is called: Taking One For the Team.
AKA: Short Term Pain For Long Term Gain.
