To add to the current topic, I personally know two FAs who were terminated with weeks left on their probation. As far as I know neither had any problems like MFAs or sick calls. I presume it was to avoid having to pay them at Year 2 rates.
I know it seems like I am stubbornly holding on to my doubt but here goes...
It doesn't take much for a new hire FA to get fired. They are pretty expendable/easy to replace and the in flight supervisor seems to be a pretty lousy manager with a penchant towards trivial tyranny.
