Congrats on putting your family first.
There is a lot of industrial weight put on the salary we make in our year before retirement and what fleet we end up in.
A lot of pilots ignore the turd sandwich we eat in the years up to retirement and the effect it has on our QOL, health and family.
It is my opinion if more pilots elevated the importance of their time out of the cockpit we would all be better off.
Excellent post. Exactly my sentiment right now. F.O. pay may be low in comparison to other flying jobs, but still about the same as a bank manager, Police sergeant etc.
Go ahead and bash away. Financial gain isn't always everyone's primary objective.
