I don't know much about the NJA QOL, or the salaries and what nots... But I do know that between the regionals and possibly NJA, there are a lot of police officers forgoing their pensions and coming to work as pilots. Funny thing is, they're finding comparable, if not better compensation and benefits, and the quality of life is far better than they had it as LEOs, even if it does mean not being home every night.
Ask them in 10 years if that was a wise choice. Single people I bet. Wait until they have a family and they cant coach their kids soccer team or their daughters are crying because Daddy is leaving for 7 days...again.
