I often wonder. If I had the choice at a job where I'm home every night, or a job at a legacy airline I'd pick where I'm at home. No contest. As my family has grown I've found much more satisfaction in their development and happiness, even the best airline job couldn't compare.

Getting back to NetJets. Why do many pilots stay on indefinitely, well past an appropriate retirement age? Well, there a lot of senior pilots on the 72 and 76 day schedules. Many haven't seemed to save an adequate amount for retirement and have lived well beyond their means. Some others have family dysfunction or a poor quality of life at home. I'm of the opinion if airlines didn't have a mandatory medical out age the same problem would exist there, many pilots seem to be of that personality type.
