Yupe..
Good question. I would think the only ones with that sort of knowledge would be the unions.
It's not as easy as saying- how many crews per airplane.
You have to know how many ACTIVE pilots are on a fleet, and how many active aircraft there are (not aircraft down for A/B/C/D checks)
Then you need to know how many hours flown vs. active pilots.
SouthWest has to be the easiest to figure out and probably the winner for efficiency.
Always believe the company knows its better/cheaper to have a few less pilots and just pay SRM (if it comes to that). Also better to have higher reserve utilization.
I believe that the union does put out a SSC report every month. Know it's not easy to find..
Thought it showed the reserve utilization of every base/fleet/seat.
Got to believe that the WideBody Capt reserve is barely utilized.. while the narrowbody FO is probably the most.
Just the nature of the beast.
