And let's remember that October begins in a couple days, with another week of mediated sessions due inside the next 30 days. It sounds like substantial progress was being made and the clock simply ran out. Does this excuse the company for purposely stalling until the final weeks of scheduled mediation, absolutely not! Was it the company's plan to make "substantial progress" in the final weeks of mediation to further stall negotiations, probably! However, although I don't agree with the NMB's decision to schedule further sessions, I understand why they did so. We need more time on the clock to reach an impasse (or agreement). This proposed week of mediation in October may be the last week, period.

We are still playing this correctly. How do I know? Because we haven't been "iced" like the Spirit MEC.

Speaking of Spirit, let's keep an eye out for any fellow co-workers that might compromise our positive image for the NMB. The Spirit pilots know how some bad apples can land their group with temporary restraining order. Our pilot group has remained exceptionally professional at a time where our management has displayed behavior unfit for any airline.

If you spot any bad apples, tell them to "knock it off!" The company would love to have their own TRO on our pilots for perceived work actions. Stay the course!

NOTE: As a reminder our MEC has asked us to not negotiate on public forums. I think we can bash the company or talk timelines, but let's not have an open discussion about what you'd be willing to accept in a new contract.
