The "old" instructors had solid names and pretty well defined career goals. The new guys generally said "I just want to fly." We were all there once. The new problem is that the regionals are sucking up new pilots who, as stated before, don't understand much about the industry. They just want to fly. I can't totally fault that, but I think it's extremely shortsighted to jump at the first company that offers you a jet without knowing that company and whether or not it can help you fulfill the goals you have.
