I'd have to think the quality & accreditation of online degrees varies a good bit. That could range from an all out scam & worthless to something more legit.

When one has a full time job, 'finishing up school' can be difficult.

Maybe try to research a program that bridges the gap, offers online but then you go to a classroom once in a while? Besides that, see that it's legit and is worth while. With some you may get a little credit for your work history & current field. To many online degrees are not good for much except taking your $$.

You don't need a Phd in astrophysics, but something at least somewhat on the legitimate side. While pursuing that, keep building quality flight hours.
