That's the whole problem. Regionals need something better, guidance, standardization, and cooperation. Since the regionals exist to whipsaw labor, that labor needs something that does more than collecting 2% and going with the flow.

There may be no incentive for one MEC to help another, which is precisely why no mec tells anyone else what to do. Each does what they feel is in their best interest. Most times those interest line up but sometimes they may not.

I'm was no sapa fanboy, or cool-aid drinker either. Just saying alpa as an ALTERNATIVE to sapa is weak sauce (at a regional).
And everybody knows a regional group cannot afford an independent union.
Plus there's the whole common-carrier / SLI issue if SKW certified.
