All this talk of what number we'll finish is a joke. Are you guys that naive? Anything and everything can and will happen between now and retirement. Mergers, out of business, bankruptcy, nuclear war, invasions, etc will all throw a monkey wrench in the best laid plans. Sure, its fun to speculate what number we'll be one day but I hope you all knock wood, cross your fingers, say a hail mary, etc bc crazy stuff happens in this biz. My number looks great today, but who on earth knows how it will shake out. I say thanks everyday and keep my fingers crossed that it stays great forever this time. I hope you all do the same.
PS for the original poster.....our average age of new hire is 37. We've hired about 4000 so its fair to say that half our new hires are younger than that. That would put a new hire today at 37 in the 2000ish ballpark on retirement. All things going according to plan of course!
