The likely sources of Airbusiums was/is Air Berlin, and Monarch.
Lufthansa bought all 72 Air Berlin buses three days ago for €210 million.
Monarch has 9 320s and 25 321s. Not sure if 321s makes it a more or less appealing deal.
As to 767 rumors: my sources say they were looked at (in person), but no word if they will be acquired.
UALforLIFE's post flew in under the radar. That website has been 100% correct so far and it already shows a start of 17 used A319s coming in 2018 which UAL has not announced officially so I think it's a safe bet on the Airbus rumor. Brings the tally to an impressive number:
30 Airbus
4 777
4 787
crews:
340 Airbus
180 WB
total about 520 slots plus retirements 380? = 900 to be hired in 12 months minimum. I see junior captain going VERY junior in EWR and/or SFO.
