^^ like I said some people work it out to get a ticket from their home to their base. However, it’s completely at the discretion of the travel department who still does not understand what “gateway travel” is (ONLY flights between your gateway airport and your base, not between any other two points. Living in oz and being based in LA would be a nightmare. Easy to get from the US to Aus but you would have to Jumpseat on United or go through Asia to get to LA.
