I was very grateful for NJASAP so I don’t want it to sound like I am dogging them, but that’s the reality. Pedro has asked management nicely for certain things, and management flat out said no, and Pedro says ok and you never hear about it again. That example played out several times when I was there and it’s still playing out. The IBB fantasy is dead, and whatever weird thing they are trying to negotiate now won’t give any benefit to the pilots. I felt like, and still feel like the union is just trying to boost pilot moral with hopes, but really it’s offered no tangible benificial change.
Why I love numbers so much is that they don’t lie. No hiring in 10 months, steady attrition although not heavy, but steady, and if those captain FO ratios fall into percentages that allow for downgrades, expect a large email full of hot air from the union on how they are going to do everything to stop it, but reality will set in when 75% voted yes to every single word in that CBA, and the union is powerless against management if they want downgrades.
