Quote: For those about to bid. We take no more Airbus deliveries until 2019. That would make me believe that anyone getting Airbus may stagnate in their position a little longer than 737 or 190. Still getting 737 deliveries and 190 is somewhat of a revolving door. If your goal is to get to DFW make sure you are ready to wait. Many pilots that I fly with are trying to get there. Maybe Sliceback could chime in on what he sees. He is a seniority maven and crunches numbers like an accountant.
The rumor around the school house is that there will be 10 - 15 MD-80 slots for new hires in the next few classes if your goal is to get to DFW the fastest. There is only a six month seat lock for new hires, so your very first fleet could change quickly IF you leave a lot of options in your preference bid. CLT is an easy commute from DFW, but it is very senior with little movement this year. That will likely change as more retirements start to happen, but it’s like trickle down economics. If you’re on the bottom you have to watch others get the benefits for a while.
